Job Title: Community Support Staff

Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated individual to join our team as a Community Support Staff. In this role, you will provide personalized support to individuals with disabilities, assisting them in achieving their goals and increasing their independence.

Responsibilities
  • Assist individuals in a 1:1 in-home and in-community setting, supporting them in pursuing a happy, healthy, and more independent life.
  • Provide skill development in areas including but not limited to: community participation, health, safety and wellness, household management and adaptive skills.
  • Examples: Accompanying individuals on errands and appointments, budgeting skills, and integrating into social events.
  • Attend team meetings, write progress reports, and assist supervisors in maintaining consistency in service provision and communication with support team members.
  • Create lasting, positive impacts on individuals' lives through coaching, mentoring, and encouraging others to reach their goals.
Requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years old or 21 years old depending on the individual served.
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record, auto liability insurance, and a reliable vehicle to transport individuals served (required).
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Associates in a relevant field OR two years equivalent experience in working with developmentally disabled and/or mental illness, as determined by the supervisor.
  • Willing to drive a 30-mile radius.
  • Adept in the use of technology and possess a smart device with adequate data.
  • Must be flexible and a team player, willing to provide the resources and positive support needed for the individual served.
