Job Title: Managing Director, Transportation

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly experienced Managing Director, Transportation to join our team at ICF International Inc. As a key member of our Transportation team, you will be responsible for leading National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) compliance projects and working closely with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage NEPA transportation projects, including technical field studies, analyses, and regulatory and permitting tasks.
  • Prepare proposals and support marketing efforts with our prime engineers, potential candidates, and with TxDOT.
  • Lead and mentor a team of NEPA practitioners, providing guidance on complex projects involving NEPA, Clean Water Act, Endangered Species Act, federal and state laws, and agency consultations.
  • Provide senior-level expertise and technical guidance on complex projects.
  • Collaborate with our Transportation team to develop and implement strategies for client engagement and market growth.

Requirements:
  • BS/BA in Biology, Natural Resource Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Environmental Planning, or a similar field.
  • 12+ years of experience in environmental consulting with a transportation focus or applicable fields (government and/or consulting).
  • 5+ years of experience working at or for the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT).

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience managing teams.
  • Experience managing or conducting studies for Federally-funded transportation projects, overseeing technical studies and providing regulatory guidance.
  • Experience working with TxDOT, developing environmental and regulatory strategies and understanding SOPs and industry best-practices.
  • TxDOT Pre-Certifications.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental consulting practices and environmental laws.
  • Experience working with clients and common project management tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and train teams of technical specialists.
  • Ability to develop and present solutions to complex problems to clients and regulators.
  • Business-minded with an eye towards client engagement and market growth.
  • Strong technical writing skills and ability to review, QA/QC, and provide feedback to technical staff.
