Job Summary

The Quality/Patient Safety Specialist RN plays a vital role in enhancing patient care and processes at Morris Hospital. This position collaborates with leaders, physicians, and staff to identify areas for improvement and implement effective solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate continuous quality improvement teams and projects to drive process enhancements and patient care improvements.
  • Assist in the implementation of improvement strategies, data collection, measurement, and analysis.
  • Present findings and improvement action plans to relevant committees, ensuring meaningful communication and effective collaboration.
  • Enter data into databases and conduct medical record reviews to support quality improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in survey preparedness and patient safety initiatives, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate the activities of the Patient Safety Committee, ensuring effective communication and collaboration among stakeholders.
Qualifications
  • Current IL RN license.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • At least 2 years of recent clinical, performance improvement process, or risk management or patient safety experience preferred.
  • Computer literacy, keyboarding ability, and a broad-based knowledge of applications, including Windows, word processing, database, spreadsheet, and graphics programs.
  • CPPS preferred or willingness to obtain within a year of eligibility.
  • DCFS Mandated Reporter Certificate of Completion required.
