About the Role
We are seeking a seasoned Technical Program Management Leader to join our Production Infrastructure Engineering (PIE) team at LinkedIn. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for leading and managing a team of Technical Program Managers, partnering with technical leaders to define and drive project portfolios, and establishing project management governance practices across the engineering organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, build, and manage a high-performing team of Technical Program Managers, providing guidance, mentorship, and coaching to ensure team success.
- Develop and manage project roadmaps and resource plans in partnership with the leadership team, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Partner with technical leaders to execute projects, deliver successful outcomes, and drive adoption of best practices throughout the organization.
- Evaluate and champion the use of project management methodologies, ensuring they are aligned with business needs and goals.
- Collaborate with teams to improve efficiency, scalability, and process maturity, ensuring that processes adapt to the company's growth.
- Lead conflict resolution efforts, establishing effective resolution paths and ensuring that teams are equipped to navigate complex project dependencies.
- Mentor individuals in best practices for project planning and execution, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Develop strong partnerships with technology and business leaders, ensuring alignment and effective communication across the organization.
- Assess and mitigate risk exposure, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
- 3+ years of people management experience, with a proven track record of managing technical and/or technical program management teams.
- 5+ years of full-time program management experience within an engineering or infrastructure organization.
Preferred Qualifications
- Practical and advanced understanding of managing the lifecycle of large-scale programs and projects.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate across functional and organizational boundaries.
- Experience with software engineering practices and familiarity with coding techniques.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Agile methods and practices, with experience working with multiple teams (Scrum and Kanban).
- Ability to navigate complex organizational structures and traverse both tactical and strategic objectives.
What We Offer
LinkedIn is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The pay range for this role is $134,000 to $221,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors, including skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location.
