Position Summary:
This role is contingent upon the successful award of a contract. The Operating Room Nurse is responsible for delivering high-quality nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures. This includes preparing and maintaining the operating room, assisting in surgical operations, and responding to emergencies such as cardiac or respiratory failures. The OR Nurse will monitor vital signs and communicate critical information to the surgical team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare the operating room for surgical procedures, ensuring all necessary supplies and equipment are available.
  • Assist in surgical procedures by circulating and scrubbing as required.
  • Monitor patients' vital signs and provide immediate care during surgical emergencies.
  • Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to promote patient health and recovery.
  • Educate patients and their families about surgical procedures, recovery processes, and self-care practices.
  • Maintain a safe and sterile environment by adhering to infection control protocols.
  • Document all patient care activities accurately in medical records.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development to enhance nursing skills and knowledge.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing is preferred.
  • Current certifications in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • Ability to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC).
  • Proficiency in English is required for effective communication.
  • Must be eligible for U.S. Department of State clearance.
  • Willingness to relocate as necessary.
  • Possession of a valid passport is mandatory.

Required Skills:

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced surgical environment.
  • Strong teamwork skills, particularly in high-pressure situations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Current unrestricted U.S. state nursing license.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in military healthcare settings or as a government contractor is advantageous.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in operating room nursing is preferred.
