This position supports the activities of the Enterprise Risk Management Committee at Alerus Financial. The successful candidate will develop and maintain enterprise risk monitoring and reporting systems, conduct divisional risk assessments, provide analytical support to finance and risk areas, and coordinate operational risk functions.
Key Responsibilities- Divisional Risk Monitoring: Conduct divisional risk reviews in accordance with established enterprise risk review program, monitor divisional Key Risk Indicators, investigate and report on threshold breaches, and support analysis for stress testing and capital allocation.
- Operational Risk Management: Coordinate Business Continuity Planning process and documentation, evaluate Risk Acceptance requests and recommend appropriate action, support estimation of Allowances for Loan and Lease Losses, and facilitate New Product Risk Assessments with management.
- Administrative Support: Track issues through remediation, maintain the company's Governance, Risk Management, and Compliance systems, periodically update risk appetite statements, and assist with ERM Meeting prep and minutes.
- Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting, minimum 3 years' experience with lending, financial services operations management, financial institution risk management, or related capacities.
- Personal Characteristics: Self-motivated, strong attention to detail and accuracy, strong organizational skills, effective problem-solving and analytical skills, and able to work independently.
The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with arms and hands. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision. Periodically, may also do light lifting of supplies and materials which weighs in at approximately 20 lbs. Will spend most of time in an indoor environment.
