General Overview

This role encompasses a variety of custodial and maintenance responsibilities aimed at ensuring the cleanliness and upkeep of facilities. Responsibilities may include repairing and replacing items such as light fixtures, doors, and windows. Custodians may also be tasked with securing premises, managing alarms, and driving to various locations as needed. Event setup and breakdown assistance may also be required.

Position Details

This is a full-time classified position with eligibility for overtime.

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 4 PM to 12:30 AM

Compensation Information: The stated salary reflects the starting and ending steps for this classified position, inclusive of a King County compensation provision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform cleaning duties across various facilities, including offices and restrooms;
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards while sanitizing facilities;
  • Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and materials;
  • Conduct routine cleaning tasks such as dusting, mopping, and vacuuming;
  • Set up and dismantle equipment for events;
  • Carry out minor repairs and maintenance tasks;
  • Manage custodial equipment and tools;
  • Conduct rounds to secure buildings and manage lighting;
  • Perform occasional yard work and snow removal;
  • Order custodial supplies and manage distribution;
  • May oversee junior staff members.

Required Skills
  • Ability to identify and resolve minor maintenance issues;
  • Knowledge of cleaning and safety standards;
  • Effective communication skills in English for instruction and safety compliance;
  • Ability to work in a diverse environment.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent;
  • One year of experience in custodial or maintenance work.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Two years of experience in building maintenance.
