The Mailroom/Transponder Clerk will be responsible for processing incoming mail and electronic communications within established service level requirements. This includes accurately entering transponder data into the Back-Office System (BOS) Application to facilitate customer purchase requests.

The incumbent will also be responsible for maintaining great performance in sync with the department's Key Performance Indicators and established goals. This includes opening, prepping, and scanning mail, as well as prepping incoming electronic mail.

Key responsibilities include processing outbound mail using various postal equipment, including mail inserters, postage meters, and the BOS application. This may also involve handling outgoing overnight packages.

Additional duties include entering accurate and complete inventory into the BOS application, fulfilling daily customer requests with corresponding supplies/materials, and identifying and removing defective transponder(s) from inventory.

The incumbent will also be responsible for receiving, unloading, checking, and stocking new transponder inventory, supplies, and customer materials as required. This includes accurately performing physical inventory of all transponders, supplies, and customer materials as needed.

Operational skills include operating mail machines for all outgoing and incoming mail, as well as fulfilling customer purchase requests from the Special/Miscellaneous queue received by mail, fax, or email.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate consistent and strong performance in the areas of quality, productivity, and efficiency. They will also ensure department Key Performance Indicators and Service Level are met for all back office operational activities.

Key qualifications include being a self-starter with a proven record of meeting and exceeding performance metrics. The ideal candidate will also possess skills in MS Office, spreadsheet, and processing programs, as well as data entry skills (35 wpm).

Additional requirements include the ability to stand or sit for long periods of time, lift up to 50 pounds, and possess excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with supervisors and peers.

The incumbent will also be responsible for identifying issues with systems and escalating fulfillment trends to Management staff, as well as demonstrating a commitment to supporting a productive, positive work environment.
