**Job Summary**

STROM MINNESOTA is seeking a skilled Mig Welder to join our team in Bloomington, MN. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Operations Manager, Production Lead, and Production Manager in all fulfillment aspects at PAP.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Stage, cut, and join aluminum products, particularly ceiling framing, while adhering to quality standards.
  • Operate and maintain equipment necessary for tasks, ensuring safety precautions are followed.
  • Support the Operations Manager, Production Lead, and Production Manager in any capacities needed to fulfill shipment requirements and project job production schedules.

**Primary Responsibilities:**

  • Read blueprints and drawings to plan layout and procedures, taking measurements as needed.
  • Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements.
  • Set up components for welding according to specifications, using powered saws to cut material to match measurements.
  • Operate angle grinders to prepare parts for welding.
  • Maintain and stage incoming raw material to ensure inventory levels are maintained.
  • Inspect all incoming raw material for accurate counts and adherence to quality standards.
  • Align components using calipers, rulers, etc., and clamp pieces.
  • Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions.
  • Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws.
  • Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety.
  • Manage the completion of all in-house work orders, ensuring adherence to delivery schedules and quality standards.
  • Maintain daily and weekly cleanup routines to ensure a professional shop appearance.

**Secondary Responsibilities:**

  • Assemble in-house product orders as needed, per the direction of the Production Lead.
  • Help stage incoming shipments and outgoing shipments.
  • Assist in inspecting outgoing product for accurate counts and adherence to quality standards.
  • Packaging and crating of products as needed to ensure product protection and labeling.
  • Assist in ensuring the work environment is safe and to ensure OSHA compliance.
  • Forklift certification and operation.

**Requirements:**

  • Knowledge of welding aluminum is essential, and welding other types of metal is recommended.
  • A steady hand and great attention to detail are required.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining a professional and safe work environment.
