{"Responsibilities": "As a Surgical Assistant at Ascension, you will provide direct assistance to surgeons during surgical procedures. Your key responsibilities will include positioning patients for optimal exposure, utilizing visualization techniques to enhance the operative site, and participating in the preparation of the surgical suite according to surgeon's preference cards. You will also be responsible for assisting with body plane closure, applying wound dressings, and securing drainage systems. Additionally, you will participate in room clean up and the removal of soiled case carts, supplies, and trash from the OR room as needed.

Requirements:

* Licensure/Certification/Registration: BLS Provider obtained within 1 month of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted. Certified First Surgical Assistant obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
* Education: High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
