Senior Registered Nurse Supervisor

This is an advanced professional nursing leadership position that requires a Registered Nurse with experience in supervising and directing nursing staff. The incumbent will be responsible for communicating with, motivating, training, and evaluating employees, planning and directing their work, and having the authority to recommend actions such as hire, transfer, suspend, layoff, promote, discharge, assign, and reward or discipline direct reports.
Key Responsibilities- Supervision and Direction: Supervise and direct nursing staff to ensure the delivery of quality nursing care to residents.
- Evaluation and Development: Evaluate employees against established standards and take appropriate actions when necessary, including recognition, reward, corrective action, etc.
- Leadership and Communication: Provide leadership and guidance to nursing staff, communicate effectively with other departments, and participate in treatment team meetings.
- Program Development and Implementation: Develop, review, and revise unit nursing and direct care policies and procedures to ensure quality nursing services with continuity of care 24 hours daily, seven days a week.
- Administrative Responsibilities: Assist with the preparation and follow-up of agency surveys, maintain a current file of licensed nursing personnel, and perform other related duties as required.
- Licensure: Licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse in accordance with Florida Statute 464 or eligible to practice nursing in accordance with Florida Administrative Code 64B.
- Experience: Three years of professional nursing experience, including one year of professional experience in a specialty field as determined by the employing agency.
- Education: A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in nursing or a related field can substitute for one year of the required general professional nursing experience.
This position requires lifting, pulling, squatting, and working 16 hour shifts on occasion. The incumbent must be able to ambulate up and down a stairwell, assist with evacuation of persons served during an emergency situation, and work with or around cleaning chemicals and supplies.
