Position Overview:
The Surgical Technician in the Operating Room at Providence St. Patrick Hospital is responsible for ensuring a smooth surgical process. This role includes:

  • Preparing for and understanding the surgical procedures to be conducted.
  • Establishing and maintaining a sterile environment.
  • Assisting the surgeon as needed during operations.
  • Supporting the circulating nurse and other surgical team members.
  • Maintaining knowledge of the functionality and proper care of all operating room equipment and instruments.

The Surgical Technician also takes responsibility for the care of specimens and performs additional related tasks as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
Education/Training:
- Completion of a Surgical Tech program.
- National Certified Surgical Technologist certification upon hire.
- National Provider BLS certification from the American Heart Association upon hire.

Preferred Qualifications:
- At least one year of experience in an Operating Room setting.
