Job Summary:

The Ford EVSE team is responsible for designing and developing next-generation home and pro charging experience at Ford Motor Company. We are seeking a highly skilled Embedded Software Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of advanced AC bi-directional charging solutions for enterprise and pro solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop software for next-generation charging solutions, including design, prototyping, testing, deployment, and productization.
  • Contribute to a robust and scalable C/C++ codebase with state-of-the-art practices.
  • Mentor others in software and engineering domains.
  • Develop and maintain software for charging protocols, such as SAE 1772, DIN SPEC 70121, and ISO 15118.

Qualifications:

  • Master's or bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or equivalent fields.
  • 10+ years of modern C/C++ development experience on embedded Linux.
  • 10+ years' professional experience in an embedded SW development environment.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience with web-based communication protocols, especially gRPC and WebSockets.
  • Experience with unit test frameworks, such as Google Test.
  • Experience with common build system frameworks, such as Make and CMake.
  • Experience with CI/CD using GitHub or similar frameworks, such as Jenkins and Circle CI.
  • Experience with bug tracking tools, preferably Jira.
