Position Summary:
This role is dedicated to managing specific segments of audit operations, serving as the Auditor-in-Charge (AIC), and implementing the audit framework for various Lines of Business (LOBs). The primary duties involve facilitating risk-oriented auditing by establishing the scope and testing protocols to assess the control landscape in alignment with audit standards, evaluating issues for their impact on the business, and suggesting severity ratings. Additionally, this position includes drafting audit reports and nurturing relationships with business partners. A key expectation is to promote an inclusive workplace and guide team members.
This position is part of the Global Corporate and Investment Banking audit division, which encompasses audits for sectors such as equity capital markets, debt capital markets, investment banking, corporate banking, and leasing. The team also handles audits related to credit risk management and global payment services across regions.
The selected candidate will collaborate with teams in EMEA and APAC, as most audits are conducted on a global scale. An Audit Manager is anticipated to lead audits and supervise a team of auditors involved in the audit process. This role will also assist the management team with ongoing audit-related responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implements audit strategies for effective risk-based auditing by defining audit scopes and programs, and producing audit reports utilizing automation and innovative approaches in a timely and high-quality manner.
- Serves as Auditor-in-Charge (AIC) by supervising audit testing, ensuring timely execution that meets quality standards, audit policies, and procedures.
- Evaluates impacts on business processes, controls, and strategies to provide recommendations on severity ratings and escalate overarching themes or trends based on existing business insights.
- Demonstrates intellectual curiosity and sound judgment to effectively influence and challenge management, enhancing the control environment and driving continuous audit improvements.
- Oversees a team of associates, providing daily mentoring and guidance while fostering an inclusive work atmosphere.
- Maintains relationships with business partners, primarily with line management, to enhance business knowledge.
- Utilizes comprehensive knowledge of products, business operations, and technical expertise to effectively challenge management and improve the control environment.
- Manages multiple projects employing technology and analytical techniques to operate effectively and efficiently in a dynamic environment.
Required Qualifications:
- 8-10 years of internal audit or front office control review experience in financial services, with at least 3-5 years in the banking sector.
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
Desired Qualifications:
- Familiarity with Global Corporate and Investment Banking sectors (e.g., corporate banking, leasing, equity capital markets, debt capital markets, investment banking, etc.).
- Experience in risk and control identification and assessment.
- Proven experience in leading teams and managing projects.
- Experience in mentoring less experienced team members.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
