Overview:

The CMA is expected to exhibit professionalism and effective communication with patients, families, healthcare professionals, insurance representatives, and third-party payers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Fulfill the expectations outlined in the OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
  • Support physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants in delivering exceptional medical services.
  • Ensure accurate data entry for patient charges, manage patient registrations, and update patient records as necessary.
  • Conduct insurance verification and maintain accurate statistical records.
  • Assist in scheduling patient appointments, managing phone communications, keeping providers updated on changes, and informing patients about their benefits.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in a medical office setting is preferred.
  • Certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) in the state of employment is required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) is mandatory.
