About the Role:The successful candidate will assist with developing animal models of ocular diseases such as Glaucoma and AMD. This individual will work effectively in a highly collaborative team setting to evaluate therapeutic candidates for blinding retinal diseases.
Responsibilities:- Assist with studies that require in vivo multimodal imaging (OCT, fundus, angiography), measuring retinal function (ERG, pERG, VEP) and behavioral testing.
- Dosing small rodents (IP, SQ, PO, and IV), ocular tissue collection, tissue processing for immunohistochemistry, and image processing/quantification.
- Work with several researchers within the team to advance multiple projects.
- Comfortable working with small rodents and have experience in a lab setting.
- BS in neuroscience, immunology, molecular/cell biology, animal science or related field.
- Good oral/written communication skills, problem-solving, and flexibility.
- Familiarity with techniques including ocular injections, microdissection, immunohistochemistry or electrophysiology.
