Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated professional to oversee in-use vehicle emissions testing initiatives within the United States. This role involves collaboration with both local and international teams to ensure compliance with emissions standards.

Key Responsibilities:

PEMS Testing Management - (~70%)

  • Lead and coordinate emissions testing activities utilizing Portable Emissions Measurement Systems (PEMS).
  • Facilitate vehicle acquisition and testing at designated laboratories.
  • Establish and refine technical testing protocols and operational guidelines.
  • Analyze emissions test data and generate standardized reporting formats.
  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations to stakeholders.
  • Assist with additional emissions testing and regulatory compliance efforts as necessary.
  • Represent the organization in industry technical discussions and forums.

Certification and Regulatory Support - (~30%)

  • Assist in local certification testing programs, including vehicle readiness and compliance checks.
  • Support root cause analysis for vehicles undergoing testing.
  • Contribute to emissions committee activities and other regulatory initiatives.

Qualifications:

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years in Emissions Engineering.

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related technical field is required.
  • Master's Degree is preferred.

Skills:

  • Strong communication abilities, both verbal and written.
  • Proficient problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Computer literacy and familiarity with relevant software tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within teams.
  • Capability to influence and negotiate effectively.

Specialized Knowledge:

  • In-depth understanding of Portable Emissions Measurement Systems (PEMS).
  • Familiarity with automotive powertrain systems and emissions regulations.
  • Experience in the automotive sector, particularly regarding emissions and onboard diagnostics.
  • Knowledge of emission measurement methodologies and standards.

Work Flexibility:

Willingness to travel for testing purposes and adapt to varying work environments.
