As a Protection & Control Engineer, you will have the chance to develop substation protection and control projects for electric utilities, spanning voltages from 12kV to 500kV.

This field is rapidly evolving within the power systems sector, providing you with insights into how renewable energy generation integrates with the electric grid.

Utilizing your expertise in digital logic design, as well as AC and DC circuits, you will design electrical projects for substations.

  • Working with Designers/Drafters to Create Required Drawings for Each Project

Successful candidates will adhere to quality control and safety practices while ensuring compliance with project scope, schedule, and budget.

This role will be part of a design team composed of engineers, designers, and CAD technicians, working together to implement client standards in design.

What Makes You Stand Out:

A Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field, along with four (4) or more years of experience in substation protection control design and/or field testing/commissioning.

Experience in executing substation protection and control projects is essential.

Demonstrated excellent communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with internal teams and clients to fulfill project requirements.

Capability to read and design substation protection and control drawings, including one-line, three-line, AC/DC schematic drawings, and wiring designs.

Ability to meet deadlines in high-pressure situations.

A collaborative leader who can work efficiently in a team environment.

A self-starter who can operate independently with minimal supervision.

Strong analytical skills and a proven track record of problem-solving in both team and independent settings.

A high level of computer proficiency.

Willingness to travel to project and/or client sites.

Preferred Qualifications:

US Citizenship and eligibility to pass a DOE Background Check.

Engineer Intern (EI or EIT) certification.

Professional Engineer (PE) License.

Experience performing quality control checks on small substation protection and control design projects.

Familiarity with CAD tools.

A Master's degree in a related field.

Field testing/commissioning experience.
