Advocate Aurora Health is currently seeking a per diem CT Imaging Specialist to join our dedicated team. This role is essential in delivering high-quality imaging services in a flexible work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
As a CT Imaging Specialist, you will be responsible for:
1) Conducting CT scans and reformations in accordance with established clinical protocols and departmental procedures.
2) Accurately positioning patients and utilizing appropriate immobilization techniques.
3) Executing optimal scans by applying correct technical factors based on patient diagnosis and history.
4) Performing CT angiography, 3D reconstruction, and post-processing of data to enhance radiologist interpretation.
5) Following the CT Department workflow, including managing patient data and ensuring accurate image transmission.
6) Operating essential CT support equipment such as independent workstations and pressure injectors.
7) Initiating IV access for contrast media administration, adhering to department policies and safety precautions.
8) Preparing patients for examinations by explaining procedures and addressing any inquiries.
9) Assisting in patient transport and monitoring their condition throughout the procedure.
10) Collaborating with radiologists to tailor protocols to meet specific patient needs.
Documentation and Compliance:
You will be accountable for:
1) Collecting and documenting pertinent patient history to ensure exam appropriateness.
2) Maintaining accurate records related to patient statistics, billing, and inventory management.
3) Adhering to safety standards and regulatory compliance to ensure the well-being of patients and staff.
4) Participating in quality assurance processes and reporting any equipment malfunctions.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, candidates should possess:
1) A minimum of three years of general radiology experience with ARRT registry.
2) IEMA license and CPR certification within three months of hire.
3) Basic knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and CT procedures.
4) Strong communication skills and computer proficiency.
5) IV certification within three months of hire and a commitment to ongoing professional development.
Physical Requirements:
Candidates must be able to:
1) Work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
2) Lift and transport patients as needed, adhering to safety protocols.
3) Function independently and make sound professional decisions.
