Job Summary

Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a skilled and dedicated Per Diem/PRN CT Technologist to join our team. As a CT Technologist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our imaging department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Imaging Procedures
    • Perform CT scans and reformations according to established clinical protocols, guidelines, and department operating procedures.
    • Position patients correctly, using proper immobilization techniques.
    • Perform optimal scans using correct technical factors and protocols, based on the patient diagnosis, history, and other relevant clinical information.
    • Use correct technical factors in accordance with the American College of Radiology (ACR) to use the lowest amount of radiation to get a diagnostic scan.
    • Perform CT angiography, 3D reconstruction, and post-processing of computer data to enhance exams for radiologist interpretation, using reconstruction software appropriate to the pathology or region of interest.
  • Patient Care
    • Prepares patients for exams by explaining procedures and encouraging questions and answering any questions the patient may have.
    • Transports patients to and from departments when necessary. Assist in transfer of patients on and off the CT table. Continually monitors patient condition during CT procedure.
  • Documentation and Communication
    • Documents patient information on appropriate forms for department records related to preservation of patient records, patient statistics, billing information, and supplies.
    • Communicates effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care and coordination.
  • Quality and Safety
    • Maintains accurate and up-to-date patient records, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and department policies.
    • Participates in quality improvement initiatives and contributes to the development of departmental policies and procedures.
    • Ensures a safe and healthy work environment by adhering to safety protocols and reporting any hazards or incidents.
  • Education and Training
    • Attends mandatory in-services and completes all safety modules.
    • Participates in ongoing education and training to stay current with industry developments and advancements.
  • Collaboration and Teamwork
    • Works collaboratively with radiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care and coordination.
    • Participates in departmental meetings and contributes to the development of departmental goals and objectives.
Requirements
  • 3-year general radiology ARRT registry IEMA license CPR within 3 months of hire.
  • Basic knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and basic CT procedures.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Computer competence.
  • ARRT registry IEMA license CPR certification (within 3 months of hire).
  • IV certification (within 3 months of hire).
  • Must pass advanced CT certification within 1 year of hire.
