Job Title: Speech Language Pathologist

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our team at Del Valle Independent School District. As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will play a critical role in providing speech and language services to students with communication disorders.

Job Summary

The Speech Language Pathologist will be responsible for evaluating, developing, and implementing intervention/treatment plans to eliminate or reduce impairments that interfere with a student's ability to derive full benefit from their educational program. This includes assessing student referrals, implementing the appraisal process, and participating in the Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) Committee to assist with interpretation of assessment data and development of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).

Responsibilities
  • Evaluate students with speech, fluency, voice, language, or pragmatic disorders
  • Develop and implement intervention/treatment plans to address communication disorders
  • Participate in the ARD Committee to assist with interpretation of assessment data and development of IEPs
  • Provide individual and group therapy to students consistent with speech and language goals within the IEP
  • Evaluate student progress and determine readiness for termination of services
  • Develop and maintain effective individual and group relationships with students and parents
  • Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents required
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited college or university
  • Valid Texas License as a Speech Language Pathologist granted by the State Board of Examiners for Speech Language Pathology and Audiology
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) issued by the American Speech Language Hearing Association
  • Bilingual preferred
  • Candidate must have satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting background check
Working Conditions

The Speech Language Pathologist will work in a school setting, interacting with students, parents, and staff. The position requires frequent travel to multiple work locations and occasional statewide travel. The Speech Language Pathologist must be able to maintain emotional control under stress, work with frequent interruptions, and use a computer for prolonged periods.
