The MEP/Interior Superintendent plays a crucial role in managing and supervising all daily MEP/Interior site activities. This includes ensuring project team efficiency, maintaining site conditions, adhering to safety and quality standards, and ensuring compliance with project scope while effectively managing trade partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and document all daily MEP/Interior site activities, ensuring OSHA safety compliance.
  • Communicate daily with the Project Manager regarding issues, events, performance, and progress.
  • Promptly report any challenges to the Project Manager to facilitate cost-effective solutions.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients and Verdex team members.
  • Control, coordinate, and supervise all MEP/Interior work and field personnel on site.
  • Conduct regular meetings with MEP & Interior subcontractor foremen to align site operations.
  • Produce daily reports and photographs documenting field conditions, workforce numbers, subcontractors, visitors, deliveries, delays, equipment, inspections, and schedule progress for MEP & Interior work.
  • Direct all MEP & Interior personnel and subcontractors to ensure project completion on schedule and within budget while maintaining quality and safety standards.
  • Coordinate material orders as necessary.
  • Participate in and document MEP & Interior inspections.
  • Understand project plans, specifications, approved submittals, and RFIs.
  • Comprehend the contract scope for each MEP & Interior subcontractor.
  • Identify and develop RFIs with subcontractors.
  • Ensure all MEP & Interior work aligns with approved designs, specifications, and submittals.
  • Verify that as-built drawings are maintained by MEP & Interior subcontractors.
  • Review installed work for compliance with design and industry standards.
  • Maintain and produce MEP & Interior punch lists, tracking items to completion.
  • Record daily schedule progress for weekly updates.
Note: The above list is not exhaustive; additional duties may be assigned as needed.
Qualifications:
  • 10 years of experience in MEP & Interior construction management or trade.
  • Proven track record in successfully managing projects of similar size and complexity (over $50M).
  • Excellent communication skills, both internally and externally.
  • Professional demeanor.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while exercising sound judgment.
  • Experience in commercial construction, including but not limited to Multi-Family, Warehouse/Industrial, Hospitality (Hotel), Public (Municipal), School, and Senior Living projects.
  • Strong multitasking, prioritization, and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • A collaborative team player with enthusiasm, initiative, and a commitment to quality improvement.
Education:
  • Degree in Engineering or Building Construction preferred; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • OSHA 30 Safety Certification required.
