Role Overview

As a Registered Nurse, you will lead patient care through the nursing process, collaborating closely with patients, their families, and other healthcare professionals. You will set a standard of excellence for non-licensed staff through your leadership.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Assessment: Continuously evaluate patient needs using a holistic approach and communicate any changes in their condition to the healthcare team. Adjust treatment plans based on a multidisciplinary approach.
  • Therapeutic Care: Plan, deliver, and assess therapeutic interventions based on patient evaluations. Document care provided and supervise unlicensed support staff in their duties.
  • Education and Support: Educate patients and their families about the disease, treatment options, and health promotion strategies. Provide emotional support to facilitate informed decision-making regarding treatment plans.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure adherence to hospital policies and regulatory standards. Participate in the development and revision of policies and procedures while engaging in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care.
  • Medication Management: Collect and document patient medical histories and medication information accurately. Ensure safe administration of prescribed medications and monitor outcomes effectively.

Qualifications

Your qualifications should include:
  • Active Registered Nurse License in Georgia
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required or enrollment within six months of hire with completion within three years
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • 1-3 years of nursing experience in a clinical setting preferred
  • Experience in oncology preferred
  • Recent experience in ICU or step-down units preferred
