Surgical Care Specialist

Methodist Hospital Stone Oak is seeking a skilled Surgical Care Specialist to assist with the delivery of quality surgical care. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating with the circulating perioperative nurse during surgical procedures and ensuring compliance with AORN and regulatory standards.
Responsibilities:
Plan and obtain equipment and supplies for assigned procedures
Prepare equipment and supplies according to manufacturer's recommendations
Monitor sterile field during procedures and take appropriate measures to ensure integrity
Prepare medications and solutions for use during procedures under the direction of the Registered Nurse
Maintain accountability for instruments, sponges, and sharps throughout surgical procedures
Qualifications:
Graduated from a Surgical Technologist program or a minimum of 1-year experience in a hospital setting as a surgical technologist
Certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist through NBSTSA or Tech in Surgery, Certified through NCCT
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
