Job Summary

As a Medical Laboratory Technician at Baptist Memorial Health Care, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of laboratory procedures. Your expertise will be essential in receiving, identifying, and prioritizing specimens, performing and reporting laboratory procedures, and maintaining quality control and instrument calibration.

Responsibilities
  • Receive, identify, and prioritize specimens for accurate and timely test processing.
  • Perform and report requested laboratory procedures, ensuring optimal patient outcomes.
  • Conduct quality control, proficiency testing, and calibration of instruments used in the laboratory.
  • Evaluate patient identification to reduce analytical and post-analytical errors.
  • Support lifelong learning and complete assigned goals.
Requirements
  • Minimum: Must have completed an accredited Medical Laboratory Technician program.
  • Licensure, Registration, Certification: Minimum: Temporary state licensure and/or national registration or certification in concordance with current federal and/or state regulations. Full required licensure must be obtained within six months of hire date.
  • Special Skills: Preferred: ASCP; Minimum: Basic computer literacy.
