Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Patient Care Technician to join our team in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) at Aultman Health Foundation. As a Patient Care Technician, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our patients and families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, including vital signs, medication administration, and wound care.
  • Assist with patient transfers, transports, and discharges, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
  • Collect and process specimens, including blood glucose and urine samples, according to established procedures.
  • Perform EKGs, removal of Foley catheters, and bladder scans under the guidance of a Registered Nurse.
  • Apply external devices, such as SCDs and pulse oximetry, per physician order.
  • Participate in hourly rounding, answering lights, and monitoring patients at high risk for falls.
  • Document patient care provided in Cerner, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
Requirements
  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • AHA Healthcare Provider Training (BLS) certification.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn hospital software systems.
  • Ability to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays, and rotate through different clinical units.
