Job Summary

This position is located in Madill, Oklahoma, and is part of the Oklahoma Human Services team. As a Child Welfare Specialist, you will have the opportunity to positively impact the safety and well-being of children and families for generations to come.

As a Child Welfare Specialist, you will be responsible for investigating allegations of child abuse or neglect, protecting the safety of children, and providing services to help families overcome barriers that put their children at risk.

You will work in one or more of the following areas: Child Protective Services, Family Centered Services, or Permanency Planning. Your duties may include:

  • Investigating allegations of child abuse or neglect
  • Protecting the safety of children and providing services to help families overcome barriers
  • Providing placements for children that meet their medical, educational, and physical needs
  • Returning children to their own homes as soon as possible and arranging a permanent plan when return is not possible

All new employees will complete the Child Welfare Core Academy Training Program, which includes learning treatment and preventive services, visiting children in placement, and preparing case reports and other documentation.
