Boardwalk Pipelines, LP, a leading player in the midstream segment of the natural gas and natural gas liquids industry, is seeking an accomplished Customer Service Manager to spearhead its customer-facing operations in the Houston, TX office.

Job Description

The Customer Service Manager will be responsible for coordinating workforce planning and career development activities across a team of account managers and scheduling analysts to ensure optimal pipeline scheduling coverage and effective customer service. This role involves ensuring work assignments align with employees' expertise, fostering a collaborative team environment, and establishing and maintaining effective relationships with customers.


Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

  • Coordinate workforce planning and career development activities to ensure proper pipeline scheduling coverage and effective customer service.
  • Workforce planning includes tracking, prioritizing, and assigning confirmation and scheduling activities, OBA, customer imbalance management, maintenance coordination, month-end accounting close activities, and special projects.
  • Ensure work assignments are commensurate with an employee's level of expertise.
  • Foster an effective, collaborative team environment, ensuring each individual's efforts are integral to the team's success.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with customers.

Commercial Support

The Customer Service Manager will also be responsible for:

  • Retrieving and compiling customer data as needed in response to various commercial team requests.
  • Analyzing and converting data for presentation to commercial sponsors to aid in contracting and development decisions.
  • Monitoring contracts, service offerings, etc. on competitor pipelines to support efforts to capture additional market share.

Salary Information

The estimated annual salary for this position is $120,000 - $150,000, depending on experience and qualifications.


Requirements

To be considered for this role, candidates must have at least 7-10 years of experience in the natural gas industry, critical thinking and analytic skills, and the ability to communicate clearly with external business contacts and internal parties. Familiarity with pipeline Gas Management Systems, FERC regulations, and regulated pipeline scheduling activities is also essential.


Preferred Qualifications

Prior management experience and knowledge of the Gulf South FERC Gas Tariff, services, and pipeline systems are preferred.


Education

A Bachelor's degree in a Business or Engineering discipline is required.
