Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Surgical Technologist to join our team at Christus Health. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our operating rooms and providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients for surgery by ensuring their skin is properly prepared and maintaining aseptic techniques.
  • Assist in the setup and maintenance of the operating room, including setting up tables, instruments, and supplies.
  • Transport patients to and from the operating room and position them according to the type of surgery.
  • Identify and care for biological specimens and maintain a safe environment by implementing technical and aseptic practices.
  • Work effectively as a member of the surgical team, cooperating in team planning and execution, and adhering to Universal Barrier Precautions for both patient and own safety.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Completion of the Surgical Technology program or an accredited LVN/LPN program required.
  • 2 or more years of experience preferred.
  • BLS required.
  • Certification of Surgical Technologist from The National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting within 180 days of graduation or LVN/LPN License required.
