Position: Crane Operator

Our innovative approach combines ancient renewable resources with modern technology to produce wood pellets that complement renewable energy sources like wind and solar. By utilizing wood pellets instead of coal for electricity generation, we can significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions by approximately 80%. Our pellets are designed to deliver consistent power at scale and at a competitive cost.

Founded in 2004, Enviva's purpose has always been to create cleaner energy alternatives. With production facilities across the Southern United States, we supply our products to electric utilities in Europe, contributing to economic growth in rural communities and supporting sustainable forestry practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Efficiently load and unload logs from delivery vehicles using a portal crane.
  • Inspect and adjust crane mechanisms and lifting accessories to ensure optimal performance.
  • Operate the crane and other equipment to lift, move, and position loads safely.
  • Monitor the log processing line and communicate any operational issues to the relevant personnel.
  • Perform routine maintenance and lubrication of crane components as per guidelines.
  • Maintain effective communication with the Area Mill Manager and team members.
  • Engage in general housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean work environment.
  • Adhere to all safety and environmental protocols established by the company.
Qualifications:
  • Comprehensive understanding of log handling equipment, including cranes and loaders.
  • Familiarity with log yard layouts and sorting procedures.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • At least 1 year of experience operating heavy machinery.
  • Strong verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in inspecting material handling equipment.
  • Background in crane operation within construction or manufacturing environments.
  • Knowledge of safety inspection protocols in industrial settings.
  • OSHA 10 General Industry Certification is a plus.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to identify and remove debris that may damage equipment.
  • Proficient in log grading and sorting.
  • Capacity to remain seated for extended periods while operating machinery.
  • Must be able to work at heights and navigate uneven surfaces.
Work Environment:
  • Work in various weather conditions.
  • Occasional exposure to loud noise levels.
