Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Veterinary Technician to join our Community Medicine team at the ASPCA. As a key member of our team, you will provide expert veterinary care to support the welfare of animals and their people through our stationary and mobile veterinary clinics.

Responsibilities
  • Provide medical care to animals, including administering injections, intubating, and monitoring vital signs
  • Assist with patient exams, take medical history, and prepare medications for clients
  • Work independently and as part of a team to provide high-quality, high-volume spay/neuter services and preventive care
  • Communicate effectively with clients, veterinarians, and other team members to ensure seamless care
  • Stay current in knowledge of emergency drugs and protocols, and ensure anesthetic machines and equipment are functional
Requirements
  • Current California State Veterinary Technician License (or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment)
  • Excellent animal handling skills, with experience working with cats, dogs, and rabbits
  • Strong interest in animal welfare and serving underserved communities
  • Ability to work efficiently and calmly under challenging conditions, and lift and carry 40-plus pounds repeatedly throughout the day
