Job Summary

ProMedica is seeking a skilled Hazardous Waste Transporter to join our team. As a key member of our environmental services department, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient removal and transportation of hazardous and infectious waste throughout our hospital complex.

Key Responsibilities
  • Remove and transport hazardous and infectious waste in accordance with state and federal regulations.
  • Operate compactor, trash and flat carts, mops, brooms, hoses, and utility knives.
  • Understand and comply with all relevant regulations and guidelines for waste disposal.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and management to ensure seamless operations.
  • Perform physical tasks such as lifting, moving, and carrying heavy equipment and materials.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 100 pounds and move heavy equipment.
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Working Conditions

This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with exposure to unpleasant odors, possible exposure to communicable diseases and body fluids, and tolerance for dust, chemicals, and sewage.
