Career Overview
Ducks Unlimited seeks a skilled Civil Engineer to join our team in Kansas. As a key member of our conservation team, you will contribute to the planning, design, and construction of wetland restoration projects. This role requires a strong background in civil engineering, experience with hydrologic/hydraulic modeling, and proficiency in AutoCAD Civil3D.

Job Summary
This is a remote position located in Central or Eastern Kansas reporting to the KS Regional Engineer and the DU Grand Island field office. The successful applicant will join a highly motivated conservation team of biologists and engineers responsible for the planning, design, and construction of wetland restoration and enhancement projects with primary responsibilities in Kansas.

Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive engineering designs, reports, project plans, and technical specifications
- Conduct field observations and oversee construction management as necessary
- Collaborate with biological staff to prepare proposal scopes of work and budgets
- Ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and schedules by consultants and contractors

Qualifications
- Education: B.S. in Civil or Agricultural Engineering or equivalent degree from an EAC/ABET accredited engineering program
- Certification: Registered EIT or PE, with the willingness to obtain registration in assigned states
- Experience with topographic surveys and construction staking using Trimble RTK GPS equipment is preferred
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil3D is essential for creating surfaces from ground-based surveys and LiDAR data/maps, developing construction plans and exhibits, and generating earthwork quantities
