Job Title: Firefighter/Paramedic

King William County is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Firefighter/Paramedic to join our team. As a Firefighter/Paramedic, you will be responsible for providing emergency medical services, fire suppression, and rescue operations in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Respond to emergency calls and provide medical care to patients in need.
  • Operate fire suppression equipment and rescue vehicles to extinguish fires and rescue individuals in distress.
  • Conduct regular equipment maintenance and inspections to ensure the safety and effectiveness of our vehicles and equipment.
  • Participate in fire prevention and public education activities to promote fire safety and awareness in our community.
  • Collaborate with other emergency responders to provide a comprehensive response to emergency situations.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Current certification as a Paramedic (NREMT-P) and Firefighter II (VDFP) required.
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment with frequent exposure to hazardous materials and situations.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills required.
Working Conditions:

Firefighters/Paramedics work in a variety of environments, including emergency vehicles, fire stations, and emergency scenes. They may be exposed to hazardous materials, extreme temperatures, and physical demands of the job. Firefighters/Paramedics must be able to wear and perform in self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) and personal protective equipment (PPE).
