Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Access Representative to join our team at The University of Kansas Health System. As a Patient Access Representative, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our patient access services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Greeting and Verification: Greet patients and visitors in a prompt, courteous, and helpful manner, verifying their information and ensuring accurate and timely completion of necessary paperwork.
  • Scheduling and Coordination: Maintain appointment scheduling systems, including scheduling, coordinating, and adjusting patient appointments as needed.
  • Communication and Liaison: Serve as a liaison between patients and medical support staff, communicating with insurance companies as necessary, and providing visit-specific information and scheduling future appointments.
  • Financial Transactions: Collect patient co-pay and outstanding account balances, and prepare office batches and balance patient payments received at the end of each workday.
  • Front Desk Operations: Maintain a clean and orderly front desk and waiting area, and enter patient clinical information into the electronic medical record as related to assigned tasks.
  • Team Collaboration: Participate fully as a member of the Patient Centered Medical Home Team, and perform other duties as required.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Graduate
  • Experience: Previous related experience
