The Clinical Behavior Specialist is responsible for developing and overseeing applied behavior analysis (ABA) interventions tailored for children diagnosed with autism. Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct clinical services to clients and their families, utilizing evidence-based behavior analytic techniques, structured evaluations, and developmentally appropriate practices.
  • Develop individualized ABA intervention plans by assessing client needs, setting objectives, designing instructional methods, and addressing psychosocial barriers to treatment, all under the guidance of a supervising psychologist.
  • Assist in the preparation of prior authorizations, behavioral assessments, and treatment plans.
  • Supervise BCBA trainees and Registered Behavior Technicians, ensuring proper documentation of supervision and training staff in the implementation of tailored teaching strategies.
  • Conduct training sessions for parents based on their priorities and address any inquiries or concerns they may have.
  • Act as a liaison between the clinical team and the client's other service providers, including educational personnel.
  • Participate in regular meetings with the supervising psychologist or designated personnel, attend training sessions, peer reviews, and assist with community outreach initiatives.

Essential Qualifications:

Educational Background:

  • A Master's degree in psychology, behavior analysis, special education, speech, or a related discipline is required.

Licensure:

  • A valid driver's license and proof of auto insurance as per hospital policy are required. Candidates must pass a motor vehicle background check and meet the insurance eligibility criteria.

Certifications:

  • Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification is mandatory.
  • Certified Ohio Behavior Analyst (COBA) certification is also required.

Skills and Experience:

  • Proven ability to provide and manage behavioral health services for children, adolescents, and families.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain positive relationships with clients, families, colleagues, and community partners.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Experience:

  • A minimum of two years of experience in the care and management of autism spectrum disorders is required.
  • At least one year of full-time experience in a role such as Behavior Analyst, Case Supervisor, or similar position is necessary.
  • Experience in delivering interventions to individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders and their families is essential.
