  • As an Applications Scientist I, you will be responsible for providing data from customer and internal samples, using various equipment and instruments to gather data.
  • You will perform testing on industrial lubricants, industrial cleaners, and conversion coating samples, including pH, conductivity determination, wet chemical tests, IC, FTIR, viscosity, Karl Fisher Water, and other tests as needed.
  • You will adhere to lab safety protocol, conduct other testing as required, and maintain work order turnaround within the metrics established for assigned testing.
  • You will maintain and keep logs for equipment certification, calibration, maintenance, and relevant standards.
  • You will practice good lab procedures while focused on safety protocols.
  • You will effectively prepare reports interpreting data gathered for customers.
  • You will provide concise data for raw material evaluation and comparison and prepare reports interpreting results.
  • You will develop methods for testing and identification of specific chemicals, ions, or mixtures, as requested.
  • You will assist with sample receiving and distribution.

MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A technical, associate's, or college degree in chemistry, life science, or a related field is required.
  • 1+ years' experience in analytical, microbiological, or scientific laboratory is preferred.
  • Experience with instrumentation and database management software is preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required.
  • The ability to work independently with minimal supervision is required.
  • Strong attention to detail is required.
