Maintenance Mechanic Job Description

Madden Industrial Craftsmen is seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to join our team in Clackamas, OR. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing equipment and facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform regular inspections of forklifts, CNC machines, welding equipment, and other facility assets to identify potential issues and prevent downtime.
  • Collaborate with foreman leads to coordinate maintenance and repair activities, ensuring timely completion of tasks and minimal disruption to production.
  • Develop and maintain accurate reporting logs, providing recommendations for equipment upgrades, supply chain improvements, and process enhancements.
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for critical equipment and safety protocols, training work crews as needed.
  • Conduct environmental monitoring activities and maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Ensure punctual attendance and work collaboratively with team members to achieve production goals.
  • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and emergencies, prioritizing tasks to minimize production disruptions.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and procedures, including lockout/tagout procedures and personal protective equipment (PPE) usage.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or vocational training in diesel mechanics, automotive technology, or related field preferred.
  • Previous experience as a maintenance technician in an industrial or manufacturing environment, with specific expertise in forklift maintenance and repair.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues efficiently.
  • Proficiency in using hand and power tools, diagnostic equipment, and welding machinery for maintenance and repair tasks.
  • Knowledge of forklift systems, including engines, transmissions, hydraulics, and electrical components, with the ability to interpret technical manuals and schematics.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and practices related to equipment maintenance and repair, with a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and provide support to colleagues as needed.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in completing maintenance tasks and documentation, with a commitment to quality and reliability.
  • Flexibility to work occasional overtime, weekends, or on-call shifts to support production schedules and address emergency situations as required.
