Ideal Candidate:

  • A call taking anesthesiologist with experience in labor and delivery, basic general surgery, and spine cases.
  • An individual who has experience or interest in rural practice and enjoys living in a smaller town.
  • Subspecialty training is a bonus, but not required.
  • Visa candidates are welcome to apply.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer anesthesia and anesthesia-related care.
  • Perform basic peripheral nerve blocks.
  • Participate in pre-anesthetic preparation and evaluation.
  • Provide medical supervision for Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs).
  • Formulate patient-specific plans for anesthesia care.
  • Implement monitors and adjust patients' physiologic conditions as appropriate for the type of anesthesia and specific patient needs.
  • Transfer responsibility for patient care to other qualified providers post-operatively to ensure continuity of care and patient safety.
  • Support operating room procedures.
  • Participate in additional areas of responsibility.
  • Assume responsibility for professional development of self and contribute to the professional development of others.
  • The majority of calls are taken from home using a pager system.
