Job Description

Gpac is currently working with a food manufacturer in the food processing industry who is searching for a Quality Assurance Director.

The company is a leading manufacturer of food products and is experiencing rapid growth, with two facilities already running 24/7 across 3 shifts, and a third on the way. Employees are well-rewarded for their efforts, and it's a fun, team-oriented place to work, complete with free lunch on Mondays.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Implement and Maintain Quality Control Policies: Develop and implement quality control policies, procedures, and directives to ensure compliance with company, customer, and government expectations, providing feedback and follow-up for corrective actions.
  • Lead the Plant's SQF Certification Program: Lead the plant's SQF certification program, ensuring compliance with SQF standards and regulations.
  • Perform Customer Audits and Annual SQF Audits: Perform customer audits and annual SQF audits to ensure compliance with customer and SQF standards.
  • Develop and Maintain the HACCP Plan: Develop and maintain the HACCP plan, ensuring compliance with HACCP regulations and guidelines.
  • Communicate with Regulatory Agencies: Communicate with regulatory agencies, such as the USDA, regarding preoperational or operational inspections.
  • Develop and Maintain Quality Control Systems: Develop and maintain quality control systems/programs, including Pest Control, Self-Inspection, Supplier Management, Safety, Microbiological Testing, and Defense.
  • Conduct Pre-Shipment Reviews: Conduct pre-shipment reviews, CCPs, validation studies, and report deficiencies for GMPs, HACCP, and SSOPs.
  • Perform Microbiological Tests: Perform microbiological tests on finished products, environmental, and direct food contact surfaces.
Qualifications:
  • Strong Computer Skills: Strong computer skills, analytical abilities, and experience with equipment and food-processing equipment.
  • Knowledge of Quality Control Processes: Knowledge of quality control processes related to the food-processing industry.
  • Familiarity with Quality Process Control: Familiarity with quality process control, HACCP, SSOP, and SOP.
  • Knowledge of Regulatory Standards: Knowledge of USDA and FDA standards.
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree from a four-year accredited college or university and five-plus years of quality control experience in a food-manufacturing environment.
  • Certifications: HACCP Certification (preferred) and SQF Certification (preferred).
  • Real USDA Experience: Real USDA experience and experience working in a Ready-to-Eat (RTE) environment.
  • Experience with Multi-Location Operations: Experience with multi-location operations.
