Overview

The Tax Compliance Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the company's tax obligations are met while adhering to established policies and procedures.

This position is responsible for reviewing and analyzing monthly tax worksheets prepared by tax analysts, providing guidance and support to ensure accuracy and timeliness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and analyze tax worksheets to ensure compliance with company policies and tax laws.
  • Provide training and guidance to tax analysts to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Manage the onboarding process for new properties, including training and ongoing support.
  • Lead the variance resolving process in tax account reconciliation.
  • Manage sales, local, and property tax return filings for assigned properties.
  • Ensure systems, policies, and procedures adhere to company policies while maintaining accuracy and timeliness.
  • Verify that the company is complying with all state and local tax laws related to sales and property tax filings.
  • Oversee all tax-related filings and payments for designated properties.
  • Collect, review, and store property backup for tax exemptions.
  • Process various types of returns, including data entry, validation, and processing.
  • Monitor the status of all tax returns for assigned properties.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, responding promptly and accurately to inquiries.
  • Assist outside consultants with property tax protest filings.
  • Support sales and local tax audits.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or 5+ years of accounting experience.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational skills, multitasking abilities, and attention to detail.
  • Proven track record of meeting deadlines and delivering results.
Compensation

The estimated salary for this position is $85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
