The Environmental Services Technician plays a crucial role in maintaining a clean and safe environment within the facility. This position is essential for ensuring that all areas are hygienic, organized, and compliant with health standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Perform dusting tasks in designated areas.
2. Execute dry mopping of floors as required.
3. Manage waste disposal by emptying and cleaning trash receptacles, replacing liners as necessary.
4. Conduct thorough cleaning of restroom facilities.
5. Maintain cleanliness of walls as directed.
6. Polish chrome fixtures as instructed.
7. Remove debris from floors and dispose of it properly.
8. Notify the Environmental Services Director or Maintenance Director of any repair needs or lighting issues.
9. Uphold a safe working environment by reporting hazards.
10. Immediately report any incidents or accidents to the Environmental Services Director or designated personnel.
11. Understand and utilize emergency equipment when necessary.
12. Ensure confidentiality is maintained.
13. Exhibit courteous and respectful behavior towards residents and colleagues.
14. Engage in required educational programs.
15. Reflect the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of Lutheran Services Carolinas in daily interactions.
16. Complete additional tasks as assigned to support the efficient operation of the facility.
Qualifications:
Education: Ability to read, write, and comprehend instructions.
Experience: Familiarity with cleaning and sanitation standards is preferred.
Skills:
- Strong visual acuity and effective communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Previous experience in environmental services or housekeeping is advantageous.
Physical Requirements:
1. Good visual acuity and communication abilities.
2. Capability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and 10 pounds regularly.
3. Ability to navigate various physical tasks, including climbing small ladders and bending.
4. Occasional exposure to outdoor conditions and cleaning agents.
