Job Summary

Amergis is seeking a skilled CAT Scan Technologist to join our team. As a CAT Scan Technologist, you will be responsible for producing high-quality computerized tomographic scanner radiographs of specific areas as ordered by a physician.

Key Responsibilities
  • Obtain patient history and explain standard procedures to patients
  • Position patients for CT scans using immobilization and protective equipment as necessary
  • Set controls of related equipment, monitor equipment and patient, and make adjustments as necessary
  • Assist radiologist with imaging procedures, starting IVs, and injecting contrast, if applicable
  • Evaluate CT scans for technical quality and collate processed images in sequence of exposure
  • May be responsible for scheduling patients for procedures and assisting with some clerical functions
  • Charges procedures and supplies used to the patient record appropriately
  • Loads and operates power injections for contrast media administration
  • Maintains accurate patient records for all procedures performed and adheres to all HIPAA standards
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • One (1) year of experience as a CAT/CT Technologist preferred
  • Appropriate valid state licensure in diagnostic imaging
  • A.R.R.T. (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) Certification, if required by state regulations or contract specifications
  • Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice
  • Participation and completion of Amergis' Competency program when applicable
  • Current CPR if applicable
  • TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
  • Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
  • Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements
  • Successful completion of new hire training as applicable to job site
  • Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements
  • Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals via strong communication skills
  • Computer proficiency required
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
Preferred Experience
  • CRT (California)
  • Venipuncture license
  • Covid-19 vaccinated
