Position: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
A Licensed Practical Nurse provides essential nursing services to patients within the designated unit or authorized community location, supporting medical care as directed by healthcare professionals and in alignment with the Center's objectives and policies. The LPN will execute responsibilities in accordance with established protocols and may undertake additional tasks as assigned.
Job Type: Contract to hire
Compensation: $27-33/hr
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8-hour shifts between 8 AM and 8 PM, with Saturday shifts from 8 AM to 2 PM (working a Saturday allows for a weekday off)
Facility Type: Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) / Family Medicine
Key Responsibilities of a Licensed Practical Nurse:
- Conduct patient assessments and maintain accurate medical records, including nursing observations, health history, vital signs, and administered treatments, ensuring the use of proper patient identifiers.
- Perform laboratory work, collect specimens for external analysis, and adhere to quality control protocols.
- Complete and update assigned tasks and logs promptly.
- Initiate follow-up actions as necessary, as directed by the healthcare provider, including lab follow-ups and addressing non-billable items.
- Provide patient education based on physician directives and patient inquiries, referring patients to a Registered Nurse when appropriate.
- Gather patient data under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or provider, without interpreting clinical data or acting independently.
Minimum Education Requirement: High school diploma or GED
Preferred Education Requirement: Vocational/Technical School or Diploma Program in Nursing
Minimum Work Experience: 0-1 year
Preferred Work Experience: 2-4 years
Licensure Requirements:
- Valid New York State LPN License
- CPR Certification
- Infection Control Certification
Hourly Compensation Range: $33.00/hour
