EPC Services Company, a prominent engineering consultancy in the power and utility sector, is seeking qualified Electrical Test Engineers and Senior Test Engineers to join our dynamic team. Our projects primarily focus on testing and maintaining medium and high voltage systems, with travel being an integral aspect of the role.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe role of a Test Engineer encompasses:
- Conducting testing on medium and high voltage equipment.
- Performing functional verification of control, protection, and alarm circuits.
- Senior Test Engineers will also be responsible for setting and testing protective relays.
Successful candidates will demonstrate proficiency in operating Doble, Fluke, and other testing apparatus, as well as the ability to interpret test results accurately. Familiarity with technical documentation, IEEE standards, and ANSI/IEEE system device function numbers is essential.
Senior Test Engineer ExpectationsSenior Test Engineers are expected to possess a comprehensive understanding of:
- Substation physical drawings and equipment wiring diagrams.
- Substation control schematics.
- Protection philosophies, including feeder protection, breaker failure protection, bus protection, power transformer protection, capacitor bank protection, and distance protection concepts.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE), Mechanical Engineering (BSME), or Electrical Engineering Technology (BSEEET).
- 6-10 years of relevant experience for Senior Test Engineer positions or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to obtain NICET Level III certification.
- Strong understanding of safe work practices.
- Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient knowledge of testing equipment.
- Valid driver's license and ability to be insured to operate company vehicles.
The selected candidates will undergo client-mandated drug and background checks and must meet the requirements set by EPC Services Company's auto insurance carrier. Note: Applicants must not require sponsorship for employment visa status.
