Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Academic Advisor to join our team at Collin College. The successful candidate will provide academic guidance and support to students, helping them achieve their educational goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement academic advising programs for students, including individual and group advising sessions.
  • Provide information and assistance with academic and degree counseling, transfer to and from four-year schools, TSI testing, dual credit, and the Admissions process.
  • Advise students on program planning, course selection, schedule changes, transferability, and course withdrawals.
  • Research degree plans and advise students on transfer guides to university partnerships.
  • Perform unofficial degree evaluations to effectively advise incoming transfer students.
  • May perform data entry and monitoring of the SEVIS system.
  • Participate in evening advising and provide leadership and supervision for staff.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • One year of full-time experience in student development/affairs, or two years of part-time experience in student development/affairs.
  • Strong knowledge of college departments and degree programs, prerequisite courses, and transfer requirements.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently or collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Working Conditions

This is a sedentary position that requires sitting most of the time. The successful candidate will work in an office environment with minimal physical demands.
