About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Beverage Standards Manager to join our Leadership Team at Punch Bowl Social. This is a unique opportunity to lead the bar and beverage education and implementation for all new and existing locations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support and assist the VP of Training in leading the bar and beverage education and implementation.
  • Develop and maintain bar training via standard operating procedures, company policies, specifications, standards, and programs relating to the sale of all alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
  • Execute training plans, measure, and follow through in support of new restaurant openings, daily training processes, certifications, new menu support, and build a culture of engagement through leadership, communication, teaching, encouraging involvement, seeking feedback, and providing recognition.
  • Work with operations, beverage vendors, and beverage consultants to create training programs and assets for education.
  • Conduct store assessments to determine training needs and set training plans and certifications based on company initiatives and priorities.
  • Support training and education for beverage and bar at every level of the organization, taking ownership for overall in-store beverage performance.
  • Serve as a trainer for beverage, including new store openings, bar/beverage retraining's, product training, GM/Bar Manager training, etc.
  • Manage training and education platforms, including Paylocity, and any additional supplemental systems used.
  • Proactively support underperforming stores through audits, training reviews, certifications, and basic foundation training.
  • Work with department leaders by providing feedback and ideas to maximize performance for the brand.
Requirements
  • Influential, has the ability to motivate and gain trust as well as buy-in from colleagues at all levels of the organization.
  • Works quickly and efficiently; able to multi-task and manage multiple projects at once within a constantly changing and demanding environment.
  • Adept at self-managing time; able to successfully work remotely.
  • Possesses a high degree of drive, with a proven track record of achieving results.
  • Excellent communication (written and oral), and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail; able to give quality feedback on execution.
  • Ability to perform all beverage functions at the restaurant level.
  • Strong working knowledge of beverage alcohol laws and alcohol beverage distribution and supply chain.
  • Familiar with inventory management systems, guest experience systems, employee scheduling platforms, and e-learning programs.
  • Computer skills and basic competencies.
  • Expert-level skill with current operational point-of-sale (POS) systems.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in tactical bar and beverage management.
  • Prior experience in successful training and employee development.
Physical Demands
  • Frequently touching food ingredients.
  • Frequently operating kitchen and bar equipment and tools.
  • Cleaning of FOH and BOH kitchen and bar equipment.
  • Frequently required to stand for long periods of time; sit, walk, bend and stoop.
  • Frequently required to lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus, and ability to focus at night.
