About the Role
We are looking for a talented individual with expertise in issue advocacy and political engagement programs to join our Government Relations team. As a Senior Government Relations Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing compliance and reporting requirements related to NRECA's political engagement and Political Action Committee (PAC).

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the PAC and Political Engagement Director on PAC operations, coordinating solicitations and expenditures of PAC funds.
  • Provide expertise to statewide staff on fundraising practices, reviewing regulations, and coordinating PAC contributions.
  • Oversee compliance and reporting requirements related to NRECA's political engagement and PAC, analyzing monthly PAC financial statements for accuracy and reviewing receipts and disbursements reports to ensure timely filing.
  • Establish guidelines, monitor actions, and provide regular reports on compliance, including preparation and submission of all Federal Election Commission (FEC) reports.
  • Facilitate ongoing data review and integrity in conjunction with the Finance Department.
  • Oversee the PAC management system, processing data reports for use by NRECA and state/co-op members.
  • Provide expert analysis to senior leadership and other internal stakeholders on PAC contributions, offering advice to staff members on best practices for working with statewide associations/local cooperatives on PAC solicitations.
  • Lead the PAC audit within Government Relations, collaborating with the Office of General Counsel to report and address any findings.
  • Track and report grassroots and grasstops activities to legal counsel, determining any state or local compliance requirements and working with legal counsel to file necessary reports.

Requirements and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in political science, government, communications, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in issue advocacy and political engagement programs, with PAC management experience required.
  • Knowledge of political engagement programs, including grassroots, grasstops, and political action committees.
  • Ability to quickly develop a thorough understanding of complex topics related to issue advocacy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and build cross-functional teams to support advocacy goals.

Salary Range
$85,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on experience.
