Job Overview

The Hospital Communications Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring seamless communication within the healthcare environment, facilitating interactions among staff, patients, physicians, and visitors.

This position is Full-time, with a PM/Night shift rotation, requiring 72 hours per bi-weekly pay period.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Responds to switchboard inquiries promptly and professionally.
  2. Coordinates paging for physicians and authorized personnel within the facility.
  3. Manages emergency communications, including codes, fire alarms, and urgent calls.
  4. Receives and disseminates disaster-related information to appropriate departments.
  5. Maintains and updates on-call lists for departments and physicians.
  6. Ensures confidentiality is upheld in all communications.
  7. Reviews switchboard protocols and information at the start of each shift.
  8. Exhibits sound judgment and the ability to work autonomously.
  9. Delivers exceptional customer service to all callers.
  10. Assists with Physician Referral inquiries for Primary Care and Specialty services.
  11. Handles IT HelpDesk calls from both internal and external sources.
  12. Facilitates Central Scheduling for outpatient ancillary appointments.
  13. Processes registrations for community events and provides necessary instructions.
