Animal Care Nursing Assistant

Role Overview
The Veterinary Nurse Assistant plays a crucial role in providing support to veterinary professionals and ensuring the well-being of animal patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain inventory of medical supplies
- Ensure cleanliness of the facility
- Prepare and dismantle animal enclosures
- Manage laundry duties
- Assist with pharmacy and laboratory tasks
- Escort animals in designated areas using double leashes
- Provide patient restraint as necessary
- Conduct diagnostic tests with proper handling techniques
- Anticipate the needs of veterinary nurses
- Support the discharge process for outpatient animals
- Report any changes in animal health to the nursing staff
Qualifications
Ideal candidates will possess experience in a veterinary environment, demonstrate effective patient restraint techniques, exhibit strong multitasking abilities, and have excellent interpersonal skills.
Physical Demands
Applicants should be capable of standing, kneeling, bending, and reaching for extended periods. The role requires the ability to lift over 25 pounds with minimal assistance.
